Lia A. Mabritto is originally from Westfield, Massachusetts but by 1970, her and her parents made their way out west, eventually settling down in Los Angeles, California.
She graduated high school in 1980 and went to college for a couple years, intending on becoming a flight attendant. However, Lia changed her career path and began her first job at Bernie Gudvi & Associates in 1980, a business management and accounting office where she was the receptionist until 1982. One of the firm’s clients, the band Styx, gave Lia the opportunity to become the head of the Styx fan club, handling fan mail and memorabilia.
Lia left the firm in 1982 and went on to become a personal secretary for Joel Baumblatt, CPA at his firm in West Hollywood beginning in 1982, where she handled everything from greeting clients to managing client meeting schedules, which included many of the firm’s famous movie writers and producers, high net-worth individuals and entertainers.
Lia’s impressive organizational skills were instrumental in keeping the firm well organized until the day she left in 1996 and decided to become a stay-at-home mom after her second child was born.
Lia was given the opportunity to work for Guirguis & Gibbs Inc.in 2018 and has been an integral part of the team ever since. Lia is not only seen as the Executive Assistant to Aimee Gibbs and Mark Guirguis but holds the title of “Director of First Impressions” which underlies the importance of her role as the initial person that clients interact with when they call the office or visit in person.
In November 2018, Lia also became a fingerprinted assistant to be able to help with investment paperwork. Being a member of a small team, Lia must wear many hats and juggle various responsibilities simultaneously. At this firm, there is never a dull moment and Lia knows how to balance it all and make it look easy. Her devotion to the office and the clients remains her biggest strength and she is always doing what needs to be done. In September 2019, Lia became a California Notary Public, helping clients with acknowledgments of various legal instruments. Lia is well loved by the firm, staff and clients and is irreplaceable.
When Lia is not at work, you can find her spending time with her husband John in their bowling league, her friends, traveling, going to music concerts and trying out new restaurants.
